How it works

Apply. Fill in the form below. It takes about five minutes.
We approve you. A person reads every application and replies by email within 2 working days.
Share your link and your code. You get your own link, like album.ke/bahati, and a short code. Put both wherever you talk about Album.
Get paid by M-Pesa. Each time a family you brought pays, you earn 40% of it, after VAT and the cost of their name. A family paying yearly earns you once a year; a family paying monthly, every month. We send what you earned 30 days after the month ends, about the end of the following month.

The money, with one example

A family buys Do It Yourself at the normal price of KES 19,999 a year, with a .ke name. About KES 2,758 of that is VAT, which goes to the government, and their name costs us KES 3,000. That leaves about KES 14,241.

You earn 40% of it: about KES 5,696 the first year, and about the same again every year they renew.

Families who buy through you pay the normal price. There is no discount to offer, so never promise one.
A family counts as yours for a year after they click your link, and any time they type your code.
Your own page shows how often your link was opened, your sales and what you have earned.

Companies too

You can also sell company albums, sold at business.album.ke: a company's leadership over the years, its photographs and videos, timeline, awards and press, and the documents the board keeps. One application covers both. Your link works there too, with the same name (business.album.ke/bahati), and so does your code.

A company pays the one price on that site, the same every year, with no discount. Do It Yourself is KES 25,000 a year: with a .ke name you earn 40% after VAT and the name, about KES 7,421 the first year and about the same every year they renew.

The rules

Be honest about what Album is and what it costs. Never promise a discount: your buyers pay the normal price.
No spam. No bulk SMS or WhatsApp messages to people who did not ask, and no fake reviews.
Do not buy adverts on the words "album.ke" or "album.africa", and never pretend to be Album.
You may not earn on your own purchase, or on one paid from your own M-Pesa.

Who can apply

Anybody 18 or older.
With an M-Pesa number in your own name, because that is where we pay you.

Questions

When am I paid?

Once a month, by M-Pesa, to the number you give us. A month's sales are paid 30 days after that month ends, which is about the end of the following month, because a family can ask for a refund within 14 days and a payment can be reversed for up to 30 days.

What if a family pays yearly?

You earn once a year: in the month they first buy, and again in the month they renew, every year they keep paying. The cost of their name comes off each time, because we pay to renew it every year.

What if a family pays monthly?

You earn 40% of every monthly payment, after VAT, for as long as they keep paying. The cost of their name comes off their first payment only.

Can I sell to my own family?

Yes. Relatives who buy through your link or your code count like anybody else. Buying an album for yourself through your own link does not earn a share.

Can I sell to my own company?

No share is paid on a company you own, work for or direct. We check every company album sold through you before your share on it is sent.

Do I pay tax on what I earn?

Yes. You are independent, not our employee, so the tax on what we pay you is yours to settle.
